A Day In the Life

Ok, so after I spent wayyyy too much time in the airport Friday because of a severe snow storm I finally made it home to Chicago late that night. Early Saturday I woke up, and ran some errands to prepare for a shoot I had later that day. I got home late again, then woke up early for another shoot I had this morning. I’m extremely exhausted, but can’t wait to edit the photos from both sessions. In the first session, I shot Chicago rap artist, Jewels. In the second session, I shot an undefeated Chicago boxer, Nick Casal. Here are polaroids from both sessions. Video from both will also be up very soon.

I did this shot based off the concept that chasing money is a trap…

Yesterday in the middle of school I got an unexpected call from the camera store, and it was to pick my preordered 5D MkII. Of course as soon as school was over I darted out the door to pick it up. Here’s a shot of the box, taken at ISO 1000 with the 50mm f/1.8….Ohhhh man, does it perform. Just so you can see the noise level I posted an almost full size image. And to think the guy at the store tried to convince me NOT to buy 50mm lens all because of how cheap it is, what a crazy dude

Crazy Week!

So, this week has been quite crazy for me…I spent all last week assisting photographer, Gary Land (garylandphotography.com)…I have to say it was one of the best weeks I’ve had in the photo industry…I got to see how things go down on a huge set, and it really put me in the mindset that I can make anything happen photographically through careful thought and planning…His assistants Jeff and Abe are two of the coolest dudes I’ve ever met as well…Gary is prolly one of the coolest dudes in the industry I’ve met and I really appreciate the opportunity he gave me and the fact that he thought enough of me to let me tag along on several of his shoots this week…I have tons of pics and behind the scenes video that I shot during my time with these guys and I’ll prolly be posting bits and pieces from that throughout the week…so be on the lookout for all that stuff…Until then, here’s some pics from the first shoot this week that was in Charlotte, NC. Video of this shoot comin soon!
